DESCRIPTION:Come to Connect and Grow for food\, friendships and new skills. There will be food and crafting available between 11am and 2pm as well as the chance to chat to helpful people about employability skills and keeping your home healthy and warm. We’ll also have two practical workshops sessions\, one about boosting your skills and confidence when applying for jobs and one about how to keep your home warm\, dry and safe while spending less on energy bills. DESCRIPTION:A talk and poetry reading (indaba) with Ambrose Musiyiwa\, a poet and journalist\, and Helen Moore\, a Bristol-based ecopoet and academic. \nMusiyiwa co-edits the Africa Migration Report Poetry Anthology Series\, which has recently published As British as Fish and Chips\, an anthology of writings by and about refugees crossing the English Channel. \nMoore\, whose latest collection\, The Last Lighthouse in Rising Seas (Palewell Press\, 2026)\, bears witness to forced migration and its links with the climate / ecological crisis. \nWhen: Thursday 11 June 2026\, 12.30pm – 13.30pm \nWhere: Bristol Central Library\, Deanery Road\, City Centre\, Bristol BS1 5TL \n  \nAbout the Speakers: \nAmbrose Musiyiwa is a poet and journalist with a background in the intersection between activism\, migration\, and community action. He coordinates Journeys in Translation\, an international\, volunteer-driven initiative that is translating Over Land\, Over Sea: Poems for those seeking refuge (Five Leaves Publications\, 2015) into other languages.
